Hello, my name is Camila Peñafiel Cañadas. I am a young professional music composer for visual media with a minor in 3D Digital Animation and Illustration. I studied at the College of Contemporary Music (CoM) and College of Communication and Contemporary Arts at San Francisco de Quito University; which has a direct agreement with Berklee College of Music, known for being the best University for contemporary music in the world.
Biography
Walking through the art path.
I was born in Quito, Ecuador on December 23 of 1996. From a very young age, I had a great inclination toward art. Drawing, painting, and writing stories were my favorite activities since I learned to hold a pencil. Singing was part of my daily life.
At the age of 8, I had my first important encounter with music. My parents had a toy keyboard which I started using for fun. At that moment they realized that I had an interesting ability to play the music I listened to. I could detect the notes just by hearing them, that's why they decided to buy me a bigger electric piano.
Entering the national music conservatory was my dream, however, my parents did not want to subject me to a life of stress at such an early age divided between school hours and the conservatory (which was quite far from home), so I started learning on my own thanks to the internet. During that time I dedicated myself to playing music from series and video games that I liked. And little by little thanks to youtube, I began to discover my favorite musical genres; classical music and film scoring...
At the age of 14, I had my first music teacher. I was always been very shy while singing, but when the teacher heard me, he encouraged me to continue on that path. My dream was to be able to combine singing with the piano in some way, after all both were my favorite instruments, however, the piano was my special instrument, so I continued to learn on my own while I learned singing.
At 16, I was preparing to graduate from high school and give an audition at the San Francisco University in Quito. One of the best music universities in Ecuador. My parents always believed in my talent, so they encouraged me to audition to specialize in piano. At the age of 17, I entered the Contemporary Music career specializing in piano with a university scholarship.
During that university time, I discovered that my inclination towards composition was extremely strong. The composition was the perfect combination of making music and telling new stories, so when the music college first opened the career of composition for Contemporary Media (film scoring), I knew immediately that this was my path. So, I finally revalidated my subjects to specialize in composition.

I specialize in composing orchestral music and background music for movie scenes, animations, video games, advertising media, and jingles. I am very passionate about bringing stories to life through music. In the same way I dedicate myself to songwriting, arrangements, big band, symphonic orchestration and contemporary composition. :)

Illustration and drawing
Since I was very young I have loved drawing, so while I was specializing in musical arts degree, I also took classes in illustration, traditional drawing, digital drawing, animation, 3d modeling, motion graphics, and graphic design.

Creating existing or original character artwork. My favorite style is manga.
Character design
Build characters from their personality and role in the story, to their physical characteristics such as; face and clothing.
Visual Narrative
I have a special taste for visual narrative and comics. Art created to tell a story.
Creative writing
Writing has always been a special part of me. Narrating a life diary, or inventing a totally new story; is why, over the years and constant practice, (as well as research and reading) I have specialized in writing novels as a hobby and a way to create new worlds with everything new that I've learned, saw and felt.
Fantasy and adventure
Fantasy is one of my favorite literary genres in which I have spent many writing hours.

I have been writing in these literary genres since I was very young, which I usually combine in any story .
